Smoked Cherry Lemonade

What could be more invigorating on a scorching day than a chilled, zesty lemonade? Elevate your refreshment by infusing it with the natural, smoky essence of SMKD Cherry Syrup. The blend of cherries perfectly complements the tang of the lemon, introducing layers of complexity and a subtly smoky undertone.

Crafting this lemonade from scratch will give you greater control over the mix of sweetness and smokiness. Alternatively, you can use your preferred store-bought lemonade as a base. Here's our recipe:

*If using store bought lemonade skip to the cherry 🍒

Ingredients:

  • Sugar and Water: For a lighter sweetness, we use a simple syrup with a ratio of 2 parts water to 1 part sugar.
  • Lemon Juice: You'll need the juice of approximately 10 large lemons, or about 2 cups of bottled lemon juice.
  • Ice Ice Baby: Choose large cubes for slower melting and less dilution, or crushed ice for a more refreshing feel.

Instructions:
  1. Juice the lemons: Roll the lemons on the counter to release their juices, then halve them and juice by hand or with a juicer. Remove any seeds and strain the juice if desired.
  2. Make a simple syrup: In a saucepan over medium heat, dissolve 1 cup of sugar in 2 cups of water, stirring until fully dissolved.
  3. Stir: In a pitcher, combine 6 cups of cold water with the lemon juice and simple syrup. Chill the mixture and add ice.
  4. 🍒 Mix: Add SMKD Cherry Syrup to taste, starting with 1/2 cup and adjusting according to your desired level of sweetness and smokiness.

Great for sharing with friends, or blowing the roof off a neighborhood picnic.
